JaZoN Ex.translates the experiences & health of JaZoN’s life in the form of a stock market, featuring data generated graphs, projections, company web sites and databases. All of his emotions, attitudes, health, bodily functions, activities, experiences, sexual prowess… etc, take the form of over 320 companies whose stock prices fluctuate according to the conditions of his life in realtime; decided 50% by him and 50% by the public via a speculation app. Each stock price evaluation is archived in a database, with over 200,000 entries to date, creating an economic portrait / diary of JaZoN’s life. JaZoN Ex., started in 2007, envisions the experiences & health of JaZoN Frings’s life as different competing corporations that generate life profits**, each corresponding to a stock. All of his emotions, relationships, health, bodily functions, activities, experiences, sexual prowess… etc, take the form of over 320 companies whose stock prices fluctuate according to the conditions (qualitative or quantitative) of his life in realtime; decided 50% by him and 50% by the public via a speculation app. It features charts, stock certificates, interfaces, apps, connected objects, and both digital and printed raw data. Each stock price evaluation is archived in a database, with over 200,000 entries to date, creating an economic portrait / diary of JaZoN’s life that does finance and art all wrong. Life Profits** 1.) Life profits** are the profits of consciously living, the good, the bad, and the boring, not the results of virtually manipulating mathematical algorithms. They are generated by consuming the products of JaZoN Ex. companies: Activities.

It started as excel spread sheets, then I taught myself to code, built a mysql database and php digital big board, that updates in real time. Following the initial platform I built a dedicated server and various applications that have been updated regularly over the years. I still update the price evaluations daily. There are now multiple versions of online big boards, a network of web sites, and apps. complemented by connected objects that allow spectators to speculate on JaZoN Ex. stock prices, and printed or drawn certificates and data columns that serve as physical manifestations of the project.

The formate for showing JaZoN Ex. is extremely flexible. It needs a good internet connection to function live and a computer screen or projector to be shown to the public. The size is adaptable to the space. All printed materials are also flexible ranging in size to full wall paper to A4 laser jet prints. I deliberately have shown in no budget venues and top tier galleries adapting the project to the budget and space, just as life has to adapt to circumstance.
