Description
200 x 30 x 18 cm(L,W,H) projector, slide rails, aluminum extrusion, DC gear-motor (2018) 「Relay Race」is a loop-animation installation presenting two runners constantly passing the baton. 「Movement」 is representing not only mechanical functioning but also the motion of animation. I imagine that the animation itself does not only appears on the image but also acts in concert with the relationship between site and installation, forming a trail of the process of animating. Meanwhile, it changes the movement between projection and animation itself. web: https://gunter292.wixsite.com/gunter/works
What did you create?
I made a loop-animation about tow runners constantly passing the baton in the relay race. I also made a slide rails installation with a projector, Make the animation and the installation interesting interactive.
Why did you make it?
I imagine that the animation itself does not only appears on the image but also acts in concert with the relationship between site and installation, forming a trail of the process of animating. Meanwhile, it changes the movement between projection and animation itself.
How did you make it?
First I made the slide rails installation by the aluminum extrusion and 3D-printing parts, and make it move by the DC gear-motor and timing belt. Then I use Raspberry Pi to control the animation play and the speed and the direction of the slide rails installation.
