2019年に制作された作品。 本作品は、1日の流れの中で咲き、散るようリデザインされた花である。 自然の移ろいは、古くから観賞の対象として人々に愛されてきた。四季の変化がとくに明瞭な日本には、その変化する様子を切り取った絵や和歌などの作品が多く存在する。中でも花は、移ろいの象徴として多くの表現のモチーフとされてきた。 しかしながら、知らぬ間に咲き始め、気付くと散っているのが花。姿を変える瞬間を目撃することは難しく、移ろいのすべてを捉えることはできない。 そんな花を、1日の時の流れの中で蕾から満開になり、そして散るようリデザインしたのが本作品。見つめ続けるとぎりぎり分かる速度で咲いてゆき、その後はらはらと散る花びらを追うと、日常で人々が感じる時の流れとは全く別の流れに立ち入ることができる。 本作品の花はすべて3Dプリンタで制作された。花びらは形状記憶性樹脂でできており、電球の熱によってゆっくり開く。満開になった花にしずくが滴ると、水溶性をもつ茎が少しずつ溶け花びらが散る。 花の一輪の高さは30mmほどである。 それを３つ並べた什器が横1170mm、高さ770mm、奥行き500mmである。 熱と水の制御のために電源が必要。

A flower redesigned to bloom and fall off throughout the day.

This flower is entirely made by 3D printers. The shape was modeled based on the actual order of petals and veins. It is made out of two materials. The petals were printed by shape memory polymer that slowly blooms when heated by a light bulb. After a full bloom, water starts falling on the flower. The water-soluble stem starts melting, and the petals naturally fall off. The light bulb and the water falling system is embedded inside the display pedestal. The distance between the flower and the bulb and the amount of water have been adjusted to make the flower change its shape at a visible speed.

One flower is 300mm in height. The display pedestal which is 1170mm in width, 770mm in height and 500mm in depth, includes three of the flowers. Power supply is needed to control the heat and water.
