What did you create?
0.1 Hz is an installation made of wood, fabric, mechanism and motors. It moves slowly and generates soothing movements together with faint subsonic frequency.
Why did you make it?
20 to 20,000 Hz, as we define the hearing range. Everything goes into your ears, words, music, sea water, bugs, etc. have to fit into this spectrum range to be perceivable. But we all know clearly, that sensing words and music is not just about the frequencies, words and music are invented before we understand what vibration is. So what else do we feel as we listen, other than 20 to 20,000 Hz. We feel a mixed soup of all senses, that we perceive as words and music. What is the unit of human feelings? 0.1 Hz challenges these definition of senses, claiming that you can feel things out of the defined boundaries. The art is not in the objects, but inside the deep world of people's feeling inspired by the installation.
How did you make it?
Many hours in workshop, with wood and metal.
